I just got a YM 2210 and need some basics. What is the best type of engine and transmission oil to run in these? And not to show my ignorance on the subject, but does the rear diff. run off the fluid for the trans. and pto or is there something different in it?

Thanks for the help,

Make sure you have the correct owners manual for your tractor and follow the maintinece scheule to the letter. Never use anything except what the book calls for. Sometimes manufacturers will change their mind on a lubricant or filter type after the book has been printed so check with a dealer on that too. Most tractors use a common fluid for the trans, diff, PTO, and hydraulic system, some older tractors used a separate system for the hydraulics. Never use "Discount Store" oils or lubricants, you might save a few bucks now but you'll pay dearly later. Have a great day. Frank. ....
